Therapeutic Interventions to Determine Patient-Specific Outcomes
This project investigates whether clinical outcomes following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) vary across patient populations based on the type of transcatheter heart valve implanted. Drawing from clinical outcomes data and cardiovascular health disparities research, the study examines potential interactions between patient race and valve model by comparing outcomes among recipients of the Abbott Navitor and Edwards SAPIEN valves. The project seeks to advance precision-based approaches to structural heart interventions while contributing to ongoing efforts to improve equity in cardiovascular care. By exploring factors that may influence patient-specific outcomes, this work aims to inform more individualized treatment strategies and optimize decision-making in TAVR procedures.
